It was 1984, while IBM was launching Lotus Symphony and many of the present laughed memorably watching “Non ci resta che piangere” and Ghostbusters for the first time, a small company was born in Emilia Romagna8 dedicated to the design of precision air conditioners for the IT rooms. After less than five years, that company expanded its design and production towards industrial chillers, heat pumps and roof tops, thus beginning to establish itself in the sector. What today goes by the name Emicon Climate Solutions, has its roots in 1997, when the aforementioned company incorporated Emicon Refrigeration into itself.
The new Emicon, (already certified ‘ISO 9001- Tüv Süd since 1994), has been certified with ISO 14001 for the environment and opened its first office abroad, in Germany. In 2010, the main office in Meldola (Forlì) has been set up. Within 5 years, the company built a new surface for production, a new warehouse, two climatic chambers for testing and then acquired Ethratech, a historic Italian company specialized in air conditioning systems in technological environments. The same year, 2015, three subsidiaries opened in England, in the Middle East and in Istanbul.
In 2017, Emicon created a new company called “EMICON Innovation and Comfort” that produces Eurovent certified machines only.
Almost at the same time Emicon acquired Hidros, a company specialized in designing high efficiency dehumidifiers and heat pumps, headquarted in Padua, in order to increase resources and therefore the range of products. Since 2017, three companies, have been cooperating by the name Hidem Group: in Italy, Europe and the rest of the world.
Today Emicon is one of the most productive Italian company with a globally enviable range of products. It features a production area of 37,000 m2 in Italy, over 240 employees, 8 foreign sales offices and dozens of agents and distributors operating on a national and international network.
